Again we are pleased to see that Allen Meadows of Burghound had some very nice things to say about our Pinot Noirs. As the foremost authority on Burgundy and all things Pinot, we find his insights to be very valuable and informative.
2011 Fulcrum Wildcat Mountain Vineyard Pinot Noir
“This possesses the most elegant nose to this point with its pure, cool and very fresh aromas of violets, plum, dark currant and again exotic tea scents. There is good intensity and verve to the delicious and suave medium weight flavors that display plenty of palate coating dry extract before culminating in a solidly complex and beautifully persistent finish. This is impeccably well-balanced and as such would allow for early accessibility though for my taste this is best left to age for at least 5 to 7 years. 2020+” 92 Points. Outstanding
2011 On Point Chalone Pinot Noir
“A perfumed and cool nose is compositionally similar to the Wildcat but here the floral aspects are more pronounced. There is a sophisticated mouth feel to the delicious and refined mid-weight flavors that are supported by silky tannins on the balanced, persistent and strikingly complex finish. This is more forward than the Wildcat and will drink well sooner and the only nit worth mentioning is a very subtle hint of warmth. Excellent value. 2017+” 91 Points. Outstanding
2011 Fulcrum Brosseau Vineyard Pinot Noir
“This is also extremely pretty with moderately pitched dark berry fruit aromas that display background hints of anise and sandalwood. The mid-weight and delicious flavors offer a rounded mouth feel before terminating in a dusty and ever-so-mildly austere finish. I like the persistence and while this could be drunk now I would advise allowing at least 2 to 3 years of cellaring for the austerity to dissipate. 2019+” 90 Points. Outstanding
2011 Fulcrum Gap’s Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir
“The expressive and higher-toned nose offers up notes of dried flowers, exotic tea, plum and dark raspberry. There is a very lush, even opulent mouth feel to the middle weight flavors that possess excellent volume and mid-palate concentration, all wrapped in a dusty, intense and balanced finish. The complexity isn’t fully developed yet and will require a few years of cellaring but the velvety palate feel will allow this to be enjoyed young if desired. 2018+” 90 Points. Outstanding
