Two New properties in Fulcrum's stable of Vineyard Partners

Starting with the 2012 vintage Fulcrum has contracted with the Sangiacomo Roberts Road Vineyard and Donnelly Creek Vineyard for blocks of Pinot Noir. “Sometimes I have to pinch myself to believe that we are lucky enough to work with the amazing vineyard partners we have” said David Rossi, Winemaker at Fulcrum Wines. Fulcrum has long term relationships with vineyards in Anderson Valley, Sonoma Coast and Chalone AVAs. “Not only are the sites very special, but the vineyard owners have taken the properties to the highest level of development”.

The Sangiacomo Vineyard on Roberts Road in Penngrove, CA was first planted in 1998 to both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir on various rootstocks. It is located in the heart of the Sonoma Coast AVA.  Fulcrum will be working with Pinot Noir blocks of Pommard, and Dijon clones 115 and 777.  “ This is an expansion of our program in the Sonoma Coast"  said Rossi, “ We have had success in the Petaluma Gap region with Gap's Crown Vineyard and we are certain that Sangiacomo will be another jewel in our crown of Sonoma Coast Pinots”. The Sangiacomo family farms over 1500 acres of vineyards throughout the Sonoma Coast and Carneros regions and has been doing so since 1927.

The Donnelly Creek Vineyard is an 80 acre property just outside of Boonville, CA in the Anderson Valley AVA. Fulcrum will be working with Pinot Noir blocks of Pommard amd Stang clones.  Fulcrum started in the Anderson Valley and continues to be a member of the Anderson Valley Winegrowers Association. "With the sale of the Londer Vineyard we reached out to Mary Elke at Donnelly Creek to find out if she would be willing to work with us on a Pinot project and we are so happy she said yes.  We know that Donnelly Creek produces wonderful examples of elegant and balanced Pinot Noir that Fulcrum is known for.  I can't wait to get my hands on that fruit”.  Mary Elke has been farming Donnelly Creek for over 20 years and she makes her own wine from the property as well as works with clients like Breggo on vineyard designates from Donnelly Creek.
