Gap's Crown

Gap's Crown presents an amazing location for winegrowers to capture both the complexity and intensity that comprise world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Nestled on the western hillside of Sonoma Mountain in the Sonoma Coast AVA, the Gap's Crown microclimate is predominantly influenced by summer fog rushing in from the Pacific Ocean through the Petaluma Gap. The soils are rocky and well-drained, ideal for Burgundian varietals. Six different clones of Pinot Noir are grown at Gap's Crown, but Fulcrum used only the 667, 828, and a touch of 777 in 2008 for our vineyard designated wine.

Tina Marie

Ron Black and Stephen Bessone planted the 11-acre Tina Marie Vineyard in the Green Valley sub AVA of the Russian River Valley in 2000. Gorgeous redwoods still stand vigilant over this beautiful property. They planted clones 115, 667 and 777 very densely on shallow Goldridge loam. Farmed meticulously and with yields kept to about 2.5 tons per acre this site embodies the best that the Russian River can offer. Fulcrum sourced 115, 667 and 777 clones from this site in 2008.

Hein Family

Located north of Philo, California in the Anderson Valley AVA, this vineyard was planted 12 years ago and is oriented with a southern exposure that is necessary to ripen fruit in this area. When you first drive up to the vineyard you are struck by not only the beauty of the area, but the precision and maintenance of the vineyard, set on a gentle slope and farmed organically. While Pinot Noir clones 115, 777 and Pommard are grown in the vineyard; in 2008 we utilized only the 777 and 115 clones to make the wine from this site.

Hayley

Located in the Anderson Valley halfway between Boonville and Philo, the Hayley vineyard takes advantage of the long and cool growing seasons which are influenced by the proximity of the Pacific Ocean. Warm afternoons give way to cool nights and fog shrouded mornings during the height of the growing season in the Anderson Valley, ideal conditions for world-class Pinot Noir. We sourced the 777 clone for use in our 2008 wine.

Tondre Grapefield

Tondre Grapefield was planted in 1997 on six and half acres in the heart of the Santa Lucia Highlands appellation. It now has seven blocks for an accumulation of one hundred acres dedicated to Pinot Noir. These vines are pruned to hang two clusters per shoot with an average thirteen shoots per vine which yielded less that 2 tons per acre in 2008. Fulcrum sourced clones 828, 115 and 777 for use in our On Point Pinot Noir.
